Silent Sunday Pt. 84 Hello snowy Sunday! Can’t believe - TopicsExpress

Silent Sunday Pt. 84 Hello snowy Sunday! Can’t believe it’s (partly) white outside my window! Good timing to stay inside and bring on the 84th edition of the Silent Sunday blog featuring…yeah, Body Count, facebook/bodycountofficial Ice-T: Hip Hop icon, Rapcore pioneer and TV-series personality these days…I don’t suppose his Los Angeles based Metal/Crossover outfit requires any further introduction either?! Most of you will probably still remember 1992’s controversial and groundbreaking self-titled Body Count debut album, which consisted of plenty dancefloor fillers (and not just the lyrically notorious “Cop Killer”). And actually going back to re-listen to that album these days makes it sound pretty fresh and intense again…cool! That said, I quickly lost track of Body Count back then with their second album “Born Dead” in 1994 and even though I noticed the band was still playing live and casually releasing stuff throughout the years, it wasn’t until 2014’s “Manslaughter” album (On Sumerian Records) that I properly checked them out again. Obviously it was the pretty entertaining and violent “Talk Shit, Get Shot” video that initially caught my attention, but then reading that Juan Garcia (Abattoir, Agent Steel, Evildead, etc.) was part of Body Count’s current line-up made me check out this 5th studio album some more. And yeah, it’s a pretty sweet record again! And just recently when I was about to blog about the album, Body Count launched a video for their cover version of the classic Suicidal Tendencies track “Institutionalized” (from their self-titled 1983 debut!), which is pretty awesome in how it presents and updated 2014-version of the song’s lyrics and a pretty entertaining storyline all together.
