Since 1999, No Awgu Man has become Governor of Enugu State, no deputy Governor, No SSG, no Chief of Staff, no Minister, no Ambassador. There is also no single Bank in Awgu, no single tertiary institution. Awgu, a first class local government in the south Eastern Nigeria is treated like a community where no reasonable people live in. They say that our politicians are only interested in becoming P.A to the others. They said that we dont have the courage to contest for governorship elections that would send a strong message of our agitations for the governorship office of this state. Since 1999, Nsukka people have contested every governorship election in Enugu and Enugu people and the government felt their readiness to occupy and handle the position and this year, decided to hand them the Governorship ticket of the ruling party in Enugu state. I became so worried when our high hopes of atleast producing the deputy governor was dashed when a lady from Eziagu was favoured. I was unable to understand how long more we can wait before we stand and let our voices be heard from the blessed communities of Awgu. I however decided to wait and wallow in lamentations no more, I decided to show that no man or woman is better than the Awgu man and woman.I decided to show that we are not cowards and that we the people of Awgu can never retire to become a minority in a state we are great stake holders. I am from Amoli in Awgu LGA and i hereby humbly offer my self to become the next governor of Enugu State.
