Since I am continually on a mission to push humans to open their minds and step out of the rigid box of “truths” and mis-facts they have heard growing up, not taking the time to research or seek out “why” today my rant is for those who view themselves as spiritual disciples of the Christian faith. You can be very helpful to a person’s spiritual growth or you can easily become an obstacle. When a person believes their particular practices are the only way to worship, live a righteous life, to gain favor in God’s eye it becomes very dangerous. I think we all see way too much of this judgmental practice today slamming us on all sides on many issues. So many are taught from the altar on Sundays that their way is the only way, their church is the only church, their views and biblical interpretations are the only ones that are correct. I offer this message. Jesus criticized people who taught requirements that God did not have: You experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them (Luke 11:46).
