Since I appear to have a lot of friends who love Heart and Led - TopicsExpress

Since I appear to have a lot of friends who love Heart and Led Zeppelin as much as I do, I give you this priceless nugget. In 2012 when the remaining living members of the Zeppelin (Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones) were honored at the Kennedy Center, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart closed the tribute with a rendition of LZs signature song, Stairway to Heaven. Theres a lot going on in this video. First, Hearts greatest influence was Led Zeppelin, so its perfect that they would conclude the musical tribute. Second, after Zeppelins legendary drummer, Jon Bonham died in 1980, the band was so distraught that they officially broke up, although they still periodically came together for tours with Bonhams son, Jason, who bears an uncanny resemblance to his father, as their drummer. In this tribute, thats Jason Bonham in his fathers bowler hat playing drums. When the camera pans to the Plant, Page, and Jones, you can see how delighted they are with Hearts performance. At one point, Robert Plants eyes fill with tears--thinking of the past, of his dead friend, of Jason playing drums in the tribute, and of the Wilsons performance--all of it. This is one of those special moments in rock, a transcendent moment. And by the way, damn, what a hell of a performance. Enjoy. https://youtube/watch?v=mf2O3OAQjng
