Since January 17th 2014, Your Way Home Montgomery County has helped 368 people move from shelters or the streets to their own apartment. We are happy to support their efforts! A client was recently connected with the HRC at Pottstown Cluster after being homeless and staying at a seasonal shelter called Ministries on Main St in Pottstown. Over the last few years, this client has been in and out of jail. Things have recently changed for the client who shared, “I was tired of doing stupid stuff and tired of being sick and tired.” Through the help of the staff at the HRC, the client secured an efficiency apartment in early summer. The client worked with our YWH Career Counselor (through our partnership with the Department of Commerce) who helped pull the clients resume together. The client applied for a positon at a logistics company and started work there this mid-summer. The Pottstown HRC paid the clients full rent for the first 3 months. Now, the client is paying part of the rent and will be paying the entire rent later this fall. The client is very thankful to have been connected to Your Way Home.
