Since WWE will inevitably begin announcing their Class of 2015 - TopicsExpress

Since WWE will inevitably begin announcing their Class of 2015 Hall of Fame, I thought, I would take this opportunity to infuse my predictions. 1. Hart Foundation = Yes I may be somewhat biased in this area, but I don’t think anyone is left deserving induction into WWE’s Hall of Fame more than the Foundation that gave way to the attitude era. Some argue that it was Steve Austin that ignited that penultimate successful run, but I debate that it was in fact the unit that included Bret, Owen, Davey, Jim & Brian Pillman feuding with the likes of Steve Austin, Degeneration X, Undertaker, The Rock & Nation of Domination that ultimately built the foundation (pun intended) that would carry the company through its most successful run ever. Despite that, each of these men would merit individual induction on their own, yet with only Bret & Jim surviving, its seems almost appropriate to induct everyone as a unit. This would also be the only way that Owen’s “poor” widow Martha would ever allow WWE to induct my brother. 2. Randy Savage = Following my brother Owen, I don’t think anyone is left deserving induction into WWE’s hallowed Hall more than the Macho Man himself. Recently Vince himself said that Randy would be inducted far sooner than most expected and with the recent release of the much heralded Randy Savage documentary DVD and Lanny Poffo’s own acceptance of the fans desire to have Randy inducted, this seems likely the year that the Macho Man enters the Hall of Fame. 3. Rikishi = With the large Samoan culture prevalent in Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay area, I think it likely that the man that popularized the stinkface will get his due and be inducted by his sons Jimmy& Jey this year. All love to the Anoi’a family, they have been an influential family for generations in wrestling helping to produce some amazing young talents, but few were as versatile as Rikishi over a longer period of time. Although he may be remembered for wearing a thong and shoving his plentiful posterior into opponents faces, I will always remember the athleticism of one of wrestling’s great big men. 4. Ray Stevens = WWE is prone to inducting a local wrestling legend in most areas when bringing the Hall of Fame, and next to Pat Patterson, nobody drew more money over a longer period of time to San Francisco and Castro street, than the original Crippler himself, Ray Stevens. The blonde bomber was one of the greatest technicians of his era and a tag team partner to Patterson throughout the 60’s & 70’s. His induction is definitely overdue and this year would be the best year to do so. Although WWE’s Hall of Fame is a commercial to sell more of WWE’s product, WWE also bears the responsibility as the gatekeepers of history, to remember those that truly paved the way. 5. Brutus Beefcake = Although this may be a somewhat questionable induction, Brutus is a favored memorable character from WWE’s initial boom period in the 1980’s. Furthermore he is the only WWE superstar to my knowledge that was ever billed from hailing from San Francisco, California. This met with Hulk Hogan’s recent involvement in WWE and I could foresee, Hulk going to bat for his ‘best buddy’ to get the nod. I’ve always liked Brutus myself and his matches alongside Greg Valentine against the British Bulldogs in the 80’s were incredible ones. 6. Sable = Rumors have suggested that perhaps Mickie James might be the diva considered for this year’s class. However I think she may still have another run in her somewhere despite being a new mother. I would suggest that Sable who is perhaps the most successful diva in WWE history next to Trish Stratus would be considered. Especially considering, her husband Brock’s contract being up for renewal, this may be an inclusion into a new contract. Although, politics shouldn’t apply to Hall of Fame induction, unfortunately WWE’s has little basis aside from business and politics. Please feel free to share your induction thoughts
