Since the complete title of this article is not appearing, the title of this is Study: People Would Rather Electrocute Themselves Than Think for 15 Minutes. I know that society is on the brink of utter destruction because of how so many people have been conditioned to think, feel and behave, but this is almost unfathomable. For the record, the headline of this article is not misleading or sensational. Of course this shouldnt surprise anyone who has almost any understanding of whats really going on in the world. Many of those people who do show some kind of interest in matters of importance still do not actually think for themselves. Most of these people simply choose what they want to believe out of convenience. The following paragraph in quotes is from the editors summary part of this study: Dont leave me alone with my thoughts Nowadays, we enjoy any number of inexpensive and readily accessible stimuli, be they books, videos, or social media. We need never be alone, with no one to talk to and nothing to do. Wilson et al. explored the state of being alone with ones thoughts and found that it appears to be an unpleasant experience. In fact, many of the people studied, particularly the men, chose to give themselves a mild electric shock rather than be deprived of external sensory stimuli.
