Since the introduction of the Windows 8 operating system into the - TopicsExpress

Since the introduction of the Windows 8 operating system into the marketplace, I am frequently asked by customers and friends about upgrading to Windows 8 and what my thoughts are about the operating system itself. Since I just read three emails about Windows 8, I’ll try to briefly enlighten those interested about the Windows 8 operating system. Do I like it? No, I don’t like Windows 8, but since they came out with Service pack 1, the latest Windows 8 update to 8.1 which includes the familiar start menu we all have been accustomed to since Windows 95. The update makes Windows 8 a bit more user friendly in regards to moving around the system with a mouse click. Is it better than Windows 7? As an IT professional, my answer is twofold, yes if you’re a developer, no if you’re an average user or business upgrading your system. In terms of a developer, the analytic mind has a lot to play with here but the world is filled more with the average home/office users making this upgrade a scratching on a chalkboard experience., maybe not that annoying but mildly frustrating for most familiar with Windows 7. For a lot of people that I have personally come into contact with having either an upgrade or purchased computer with Windows 8 already on it, disappointment was most common in each person. Reviews worldwide reflect this disappointment with the percentages in Microsoft’s market share loss through rock-bottom sales. Across the board in all the IT environments that I have interacted with, Windows 8 had very few silver linings. Although surprisingly, I have met several people with very few complaints about Windows 8. Were they on medication? I don’t know, I know I wanted to be my first few days using Windows 8. If touch screen technology on a tablet or home pc is what you like, then you may find Windows 8 a bit more bearable since the default setting is geared toward touch screens. The majority of my work entails mostly computers with a variety of window operating systems, a small percentage of computers are Macintosh. I am a huge fan of apple technology and believe if you give a Macintosh computer a try, you may find the apple experience parallel’s the first time you discovered true love or lust. Then again maybe not, but no one sent an email asking me about Apple technology so I won’t ramble on about my likes for Macintosh computers. There is irony here with my likes for apple technology; I don’t care for the iPhones. Why? Because it’s too restrictive. For those on my tech list, if this little blog just created more answers as to whether an upgrade is needed, send an email and we can go over what part of “No, I don’t like Windows 8” you did not understand LOL If you have purchased a computer with Windows 8 and want to downgrade to Windows 7, I can do that as well for you. If you’re on my friend’s list call, text, email or send your psychic vibes my way, if you’re reading this from outside of Facebook, I usually have a one to two day reply time.
