Since the middle of February ..right after breast cancer surgery, I started feeling weak in one muscle at a time and my eye sight became so blurred I couldnt drive since the first of March. Doctors blamed stress and tiredness from radiation. each day I became weaker. Finally May 2 I collapsed in the kitchen. Ron took me to ER and after three days a neurologist diagnosed myasthenia gravis. Needless to say I had never heard of it. I had four nights of immunology infusions. At last I could move my legs arms moved and I could get out of bed with help and barely walk with a walker. After a week in the hospital I went to a rehab hospital for a week. I had to get those muscles to move again and learn how to care for myself in a new way. These therapist are awesome and I still go building up my muscles. Even my neck muscles quit working and I couldnt hold my head up. I am now after two weeks able to do this most the time. MG is an auto immune disease. The minute a muscle is fatigued you have to quit and rest it. Like NOW not in five minutes. The doctor has no idea how far the recovery will go. Will I ever be normal again? God knows. My life has totally changed. My walk with The Lord has grown. My family and friends have come along beside me and cared for our every need. Ron has been my cheerleader, nurse, cook, gardener and housekeeper. What a man and family God sent to me ...so humbled. My career at cargill has ended. What a blessing their culture has been to me. What does The Lord have planned... Excited to find out. Just take every morning and thank him for everything he has given u that day. Example. Getting out of bed on your own, taking a shower quickly, being able to drive. God bless u all because reading your posts these past few months have meant so much.
