Since the other sander has retired for the moment, my plan is to resume sanding Tuesday morning (tomorrow) with a rented sander. It would be good to get it done before we break the bank in rental fees. I can work all day Tuesday and Thursday, but only until noon on Wednesday. As well, there is still a need for people with a vacuum or a hand sander to work on the edges and the low spots. If you dont want to take a turn at the big sander, company and cheering is great too, or you can clean and tidy the downstairs room if you get bored. The next phase is the cleaning stage. Once sanded, the floor will need to be carefully vacuumed and cleaned with a tack-cloth to remove all sawdust residue. Who wants to join that team? The third stage will be the finishing. After cleaning, we’ll need 5-6 people to come for an hour or 2, three times to spread the water-based urethane. This we spread with a pad on the end of a broomstick. Who will help with this? Putting everything back will have to wait a week or 2 in order to let the finish cure.
