Since today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and with all the recent - TopicsExpress

Since today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and with all the recent talk about race the issues of race in particular are right up front in my mind. Having white skin myself, the issue of race isnt necessarily in the forefront of my mind on a daily basis. I think that is a major aspect (if not the defining one) of white privilege--being white means you dont have to consider that the color of your skin alone could make you a target. With all of that in mind I watched the following video. Ive heard or read about stories similar to this one and it seems like they--at least in the US--are undertaken almost always (if not always) by white males. Do you think women, people of color (as they are commonly called), or female people of color would be able undertake a trip like this one with an equally positive an outcome as Tall Bike Bobby describes?
