Since, we know so little of the North East and the mainstream media ensures it stays that way there are bound to be questions when a North Easterner interacts with others. For that matter, how much do we know about other regions besides the North East? The answer is Not so much. So everytime someone else asks questions from a North Easterner about their culture it might not be racist but out of plain curiosity fueled by their desire to know you more but sadly as a Delhite I realise that its not the first time they have been asked all this. They have little patience left now and its not funny anymore. Here come the Japs! Oye can you speak Mandarin? Tum breakfast mai Momos khate ho? rarely solicit a smile Hence, I discuss everything but this. Sad really sad!! I am not a racist but I dare not ask the questions from a North Easterner. Hope someday things settle down and all this would be in good taste.
