Sindh province faces the constant challenges of pervasive poverty, population explosion, poor infrastructure, recurring natural and man-made disasters due to organized corruption and inefficiency and dwindling provision of development assistance to the upper and lower Sindh regions. Non-availability of drinking water is another issue though potable water is available only in the paid documentaries and advertisements, people often suffer from gastroenteritis and other water borne diseases, which are very much common in the rural and remote areas of the province. Nowadays due to ruthlessly slow relief work in various monsoon rains caused flood-affected areas in Sindh, there is the outbreak of cholera and gastroenteritis, among others, which have claimed hundreds of lives, in particular, those of children, pregnant women and elderly people.
