Sing Your Praise To The Lord! O kingdoms of the earth, sing to - TopicsExpress

Sing Your Praise To The Lord! O kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; sing praises to the Lord, Selah (Psalm 68:32 ESV) Of all the things commanded of us in Scripture, this is one in which we can often be lacking in obedience. As a former worship leader, one of my most discouraging things was seeing the LACK of singing of praises among Gods people. Often times it felt as if the congregation was more spectators than participants. When that occurs, the praise band seems more like a concert band than a worship team. Why do so many neglect or simply refuse to join in singing? Some will say, Oh, you dont want to hear me sing. I cant carry a tune. But, is that the real reason? The Psalmist says, Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! (Psalm 100:1-2 ESV). If you have truly been given a song of salvation - LET IT OUT! Be obedient to The Lord and express yourself! It doesnt have to be perfect because it is not for men, it is for The Lord! And it shows OBEDIENCE on your part. The truth of the matter is that many just havent really received a song! How sad that must be! When we begin to come into right relationship with Jesus, we cant help but sing! God will give you a song! The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. (Exodus 15:2 ESV) Singing of praises is an intrinsic and necessary part of our worship. It is intended to be participated in by ALL who come together before The Lord! And David and ALL Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, with song and lyres and harps and tambourines and cymbals and trumpets.(1 Chronicles 13:8 ESV) And this is not just the Old Testament pattern. Paul writes, be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,(Ephesians 5:18-19 ESV). And, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.(Colossians 3:16 ESV) We must become aquatinted with the songs of praise here and train ourselves to enter in to Gods Presence because we will have a new song to sing when we enter His Glory! And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:9-10 ESV) So, as you go to worship The Lord today - Sing your praise to The Lord!
