Sing for a job! I want to announce the start of a new karaoke competition beginning on Wednesday 19th March which will not only be a bit of serious fun but could help me find a new Karaoke host for the coming summer season. I am looking for someone to join my wonderful entertainment team which is headed by the incredibly talented Jon Lonergan, who has just been signed up by downtown artists in London to produce a new single and album and Mike Seals-Law one half of the incredible Marshall Law Blues Brothers Tribute. The competition is not necessarily about who has the best voice, although that is an important aspect, it is about who can entertain the crowd and get them wanting more! I want to see energy and fun emanating out from the stage... I want to see the Nelly Factor! There are money prizes and as mentioned the big possibility of a permanent position on our team for the person that demonstrates the qualities we are searching for. Details: Karaoke Competition at the Lord Nelson starts on Wednesday 19th March at 8.30pm. There will be 6 heats - 2 people from each will go through to semi finals - Competitors are asked to have 2 songs and a sing off song prepared and if possible songs should be registered before competition day in order to avoid duplication and to allow us to we can obtain backing tracks if necessary. Judging will be unbiased and based on a number of criteria including: Entertainment value, Vocal ability, Impact and Star Quality. Open to all (except our own Karaoke Hosts) - 1st Prize £100, 2nd Prize £75, 3rd Prize £50, 4th Prize £25 and there will also be consolation prizes for finalist runner ups.
