Single leg speed lunges. Great for strengthening quads and hams, also helping to improve coordination and balance. Strengthening these muscles will help increase speed, and help to work together in pulling the body into motion from a stop position. Also a key thing is, by strengthening these two muscles, it will help protect your knees from injury. This is perfect for me as I am recovering from a torn MCL. I dont have much weight on there, but I make sure to keep my form good and shoot for higher reps for muscle endurance. The bands add resistance to help with the explosion part.
