Sir Ken Robinson explains that we live in 2 worlds. A world that existed whether or not we exist, referred to as the outer world & another world that exist because we existed, through the inner world of our consciousness. Our education focuses mostly on the outer world. It is increasingly poor in giving people techniques to look inward for greater engagement of self and understanding the relationship between the inner and outer world. He emphasised on the need for an education to teach us how to connect ourselves with ourselves. When we lose this connection we are lost and we have no sense of purpose. Another part of this education he said is to connect ourselves with each other to gain a sense of empathy, intuition and mutuality, failing which results in disengagement & disaffection. I believe Enneagram offers us such an education to understand ourselves better and that of others. Understanding though is only the means. The end remains a choice within us to create a different world, one that will be different because we existed. What kind of world are you creating?
