Sirf Dekho….samjho mat… Another Id….and another Sallubhai movie “Kick”s its way into the theatres…. I have started to take every Salman Khan movie post “Ek tha tiger” with much caution….first of all, both he and his clan of directors seem to have taken his aura and “Being Human” NGO way to seriously when it comes to making films…..here is one actor who was down in the dumps, got a fresh lease of life almost by chance through “Wanted”, then cashed in on the fame with more mediocre movies, then gave us one or two watchable ones and now is heading right back to where he came from in the first place…. First things first….Kick is a remake of a south indian film of the same name that was a big hit down south….so as what the Sohail Khans and the Prabhu Devas do, Sajid Nadiadwala buys the rights of that film, decides to direct it himself, gets Salman to star in it, packs it with loads of VFX and action and presents the old “corked” wine in a new bottle and unleashes it onto the hapless Hindi audience…. But why am I blaming Salman? Shahrukh Khan did it in Chennai Express, Aamir did it in Dhoom 3, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn does it every other Friday!!!!! Sigh………. Anyways coming back to the film, there is nothing original or noteworthy in the story or plot…neither are the songs likeable…..if anyone tells me that “Jumme ki raat” is a good song then I believe they need to see a ear specialist…. Of the cast, Salman Khan does what is expected of him…..from his “sleepwalking” through roles days, he has come along a long way…The less said about Jacquline Fernandes the better….Randeep Hooda can act provided he gets the right director…over here, he is wasted… The only reasons a talent like Nawazuddin Siddeque is in this movie must be for the money…..God bless his new house!!!! He truly deserves it… All in all, a very mediocre film packaged very nicely by the makers with external elements….this is like a wine that needs to be gulped down….if you hold it in your mouth to savour the taste, u will be badly let down….
