*Site Rules & Regulations* (formerly known as *What Fast Truckin’ is about) Your Admins – Ross Squeaka Young & Brad Hayes. Fast Truckin’ in Australia in the 80’s & early 90’s was started by Stew Read a few years back. Originally started with the East Coast runners in mind, particularly on the Hume between Melbourne & Sydney, the Group has diverted away from the original intent quite a few times with trucks from all States & Territories accepted, with the exception of road trains & oversize loads. (You can read more in the About description originally written by Stew Read.) Several Admins may have come and gone but the late, great Darryl ‘Dash’ Thomas was never shy when it came to telling people that what they were posting either didn’t fit in here or didn’t belong. It’s in that spirit that Ross & I continue running the site as both Stew & Dash would have liked, and how the majority of you want it run. If you’ve been a long time member of this site, you will have seen and had an input into what is wanted on here, and what is not. If you’re a relatively new member, you would not be aware of how much this site has been cleaned up, what is allowed and what is not welcome here. Here are the Group rules – * The simplest way to participate in this Group is to consider it a time warp and abide by the title of the Group. BEFORE posting pics to this site, ask yourself - is it a fast truck? - is it Australian? - is it from 1980 to 1995? If it is not, do not post it. Pics from the late 70’s and the late 90’s miss the cut. * Absolutely NO pics, videos or advertisements to be posted UNLESS they are from the 80’s & early 90’s, involve Fast Truckin’ and is Australian content. * Absolutely NO memes. They weren’t around in the 80’s & early 90’s – don’t post them here. * NO photos of Road Trains or oversized loads. * Absolutely NO photos of fatal accidents. If you post a photo of a wrecked or smashed truck, make sure before posting that no one was killed either in the accident itself or later in hospital. Pics of fatal accidents are NOT a tribute to fallen drivers, NOT a reminder to drive safely out there most definitely NOT entertainment. * Due to the amount of rubbish that gets generated every single time a photo of it gets posted, Simon Kerswell’s AERODYNE in any way, shape or form is also prohibited from this site. ANY reference to the truck – whether it be comment or picture – will result in being booted from the site. *Abuse of Admin and other members on this site will not be tolerated. The occasional jest in fun is acceptable, but full on abuse is not. * Drug references are to be kept to the absolute minimum. Please remember, there are women and young people on here. Many will argue that it was a part of the industry back then, but some things are best left unmentioned. * Photos of speedos off the clock are always controversial and have been known to cause arguments. Photos from the 80’s & early 90’s are acceptable – current modern day ones are not. * If you have a friend or family member that for some reason is blocked from here and you would like to add them, ask either Ross or myself how to go about it by messaging either one of us. Ross is in charge of looking after the new members by going through each and every applicant. If they look like they don’t belong – as in no pictures of trucks or anything to do with the industry – they get blocked. This is to stop the posting of ads for new phones, shoes and insurance. It is also to stop University studies, spam and mail order brides. Ross does an excellent job at keeping them out of here so you can enjoy the site, but we do understand that sometimes an innocent person may slip through the net. People are only added after careful consideration and their chances are further improved if they provide further information regarding why they wish to join. * I’m in charge of the playground. If you spot something on here you don’t like or you think doesn’t belong, message me with your gripe and I’ll try and rectify it as soon as I can. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, suggestions or ideas, message me. If you are not comfortable with messaging me, message Ross. * Blocking the Admins – either one or both of us, for whatever reason you have – will also get you booted. These Rules were agreed upon by the majority of this site when we started to clean it all up in 2013. Although some may disagree with them and think we are being heavy-handed, it has resulted in a no bullshit site where people can come and not only view the lifestyle of the 80’s & early 90’s, but feel comfortable posting their photos, knowing they are sharing history with like-minded people who appreciate what has been done in the past. If the ^old fella’s find there’s far too much bullshit, they’ll post their stuff elsewhere. We’d rather have them do it here. ^much respect to anyone older than me.
