Sitting at da table half asleep while my uncle al cooks breakfast n talking away about running for another pageant, I den said sorry to burst ur bubble unk but based on my last appt. Im at high risk for cancer and dats my main priority rite now im done wit da pageant world. My uncle al stood der stunned and shocked n worried, he was started talking to me about options I had and i said u know dats problems for the 15th I rather not talk about it but hey it was a good run check it out I won 6 out of 8 pageants look at da showcase filled wit awards n winnings and some crowns I was able to keep, I like to think I broke thru da pageant business, I went out der n showed ppl big girls can be jus as great n I gave hope to alot of young women dat it dont matter wat u look like, how much u weight, or how much money u have or wat kind of jewelry u have, I inspired girls who look like me to never let vanity get in da way of anything n to feel comfortable about themselves, I did dat unk, now I see girls whom looked like me running for miss navajo today I broke barriers, I endured da criticism, hurtful words, harassment, bullying to prove that big girls had a place in da pageant world too, im glad I did it, I have da credentials to say I been der done dat n I have nuthin to prove except dat I made a difference in da lives of many young women, so now i get to sit back n watch others pursue there dreams in becoming an ambassador for the Navajo people and that is da greatest gift of all. It doesnt matter how many crowns n awards i won, I was in it to make a difference n touch da hearts of my people thru prayer n song as well as encouragement. That is why I did wat I did, I wasnt in it to make a name for myself nor was I in it to show off. My uncle al we are still proud of u for all u have accomplished its pageant season n we are excited haha
