Sitting down this evening to something I havent heard in years. On the last trip to my parents house I was rummaging through my old room looking for some old games still lying about when I ran across something I never expected to find. My physical copies of the Pokemon 2.B.A. Master album and the soundtrack to the first Pokemon movie both of which looked as if time had never touched them in the sixteen years that Ive owned them. I wasnt quite hit by the gravity of what Id found until this evening when I loaded them up on my computer and listened to them taking a moment to reflect on how excited I was to do the same thing with these exact same copies of the albums at the age of ten on my less-than-amazing, silver Magnavox boombox. It was about the time that I hit My Best Friends on the 2.B.A Master album that I realized that Im crying. An its not a soft sort of sob either. Im crying like the weight of sixteen years has been washed away just by remembering the first time that I listened to these exact cds. Im not all that sure why. Maybe Im wondering where all that time went or maybe its just that music seems to touch a part of my soul that I just cant seem to reach through... Well, really anything else. All I know is that this evening Ill let the tears flow and wont forget where I came from. As I gently place these albums on the shelf to preserve them the same way that Ive somehow miraculously managed to do through all of these years Ill wonder where Ill be in another sixteen years. Maybe not a not will change? Or maybe Ill be listening to them with my own children? Either way I just thought Id share with all of you how touching this event has been for me. Dont forget that something that seems so insignificant at the time may mean the world to you later in life. P.S. For the sake of complementing the post Ill include a Youtube link to the song that set this in motion for me. I hope you enjoy it half as much as I always have. https://youtube/watch?v=gmvWPiV37BM
