Situated on 1.7 acres of open meadows and nearby woods, this two story early American farm house in the Berkshires was built in 1780 and originally part of the Goodrich Farm within the many acres of the Hopkins Forest has a wonderful rural feel given its close proximity to the town center. While ‘cozy’ might be an apt description for this 1842 square foot home, there is more house than initially meets the eye: two bedrooms in addition to the master bedroom and an office upstairs; a lovely large living room with new woodstove and hearth, country kitchen, dining room and family room all situated downstairs. Although much has been done in recent renovations, most of the home’s original charms—exposed beams, wood floors both up and downstairs-- are impossible to miss and accentuate its authentic, rustic, timeless New England charm. A complimentary oversized two car detached garage with cupola is great for vehicles, wood storage and a work shop if needed. Much of this description was taken from the Berkshire Living Hot Properties article in June 2008. Not much has changed other than for the better—a new efficient heating system, new windows throughout and new roof, to name a few.
