Six NSW Rural Fire Service members have today been awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal as part of the 2014 Queen’s Birthday Honours. The six NSW RFS AFSM recipients are Peter Carter, Donald Coddington, Allan Hepplewhite, Henry Maye, Alan Selman and Victor Walker. The AFSM recognises distinguished service by members of Australian fire services. It acknowledges the demonstrated leadership, dedication, commitment and achievement of the medal recipient as well as their ongoing service to the community.
