Skaters, Its been proposed, not for the first time, that The World Championships of Slalom could be brought to Antrim in 2015. I think Antrim is the perfect place for this. Others agree. The hill, the H & H festival, its right smack down town, 2 hours from Logan International, we can get easy power, and run cameras, and use facilities, town/cops/people like us, and more, and more. This could be a great event! AND If we pass on it this year, It might never happen here. Just sayin... Right now Im looking for my Generals, Majors, and Captains. Anyone who could lead a team to take on a part of this huge job. We need promotion, race course crew, timing and ISSA liason, local transportation, meals, lodging, and more. If you are interested in seeing this event happen here, and can make a commitment starting roughly NOW to help organize this, PLEASE let me know by email or FB message that you want to be on the team. So you know: the last two years have been very difficult for me personally. Work stuff mostly, eating up all my time and energy. That and my skate crew drifting apart, and some of our old helpers getting tired, needing a break... and we all took it a bit easy, and the last race wasnt fancy, though we still had fun, but... Im in a very GOOD position now to put time and effort into this race, and can (and will) bring the full media circus to bear on this race, and this amazing sport - if we all decide to hit it hard. IMO this is as much about slalom and recruiting for our future as it is for this single event. We can do this big, if a few people want to make it a priority in their lives in 2015. Hoping to hear from those interested in being a part of this, and need to catch a whiff of which way the wind is blowing by Dec/Jan - so let me know your thoughts! Thanks!! -dk
