Sky Sport Italia is reporting that Arsenal have accepted an offer from Roma for Ivorian forward Gervinho. The two clubs have been locked in negotiations for a couple of weeks now, but it seems a breakthrough has finally been made. According to Sky Sport Italia, Arsenal have accepted a proposal worth €8 million plus performance related bonuses. It is believed Gervinho had earlier agreed a four-year deal with the Giallorossi, with the Ivorian set to be reunited with coach Rudi Garcia at Stadio Olimpico. As soon as he passes a medical in Rome, the player will fly to Boston to join his new teammates for a pre-season training camp. Gervinho, 26, joined Arsenal two years ago from LOSC Lille, but has failed to prove his worth in the English Premier League. The Ivorian could only score 9 goals in 46 Premier League fixtures, and he was constantly criticized for his profligacy in front of goal.
