Sleep is the place the human body recovers and rejuvenates from lifes activities and challenges. Without sleep the hard work put into improving physical performance would be limited. Simply put, we get stronger with rest because this is the time the body rebuilds itself from exercise and physical demands. It is the process of repair and rebuilding cells and fibers which break down during vigorous activities which makes us stronger. Without adequate sleep, rest and recovery, workouts lead to fatigue and over training. When over training occurs there is a regression in physical performance.
