Slug: Hon. Engema Jumbo Lauds Education, Works Commissioners The leader of the Niger Delta Believer’s Group, Hon. Engema Jumbo, has lauded the Commissioner of Education, Hon. Salo Adikumo and the Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, for their contributions to the development of Bayelsa State. Hon. Engema Jumbo, who made this statement recently in Yenagoa while chatting with newsmen, stressed that these two commissioners are working tirelessly to make sure that the restoration agenda of Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson achieves its purpose in the state. Hon. Jumbo, a human rights activist that strongly believes in the development of the Niger Delta, said that Gov. Dickson is on the right path to develop the state but his commissioners are the failures in the restoration team. According to him, some of the contractors do not award contracts to genuine contractors; adding that some commissioners who hail from Ekeremor LGA of the state even award contracts to their girlfriends; that is one of the major reasons contracts are abandoned. He also stated that everybody is complaining about the Dickson-led administration because of his commissioners; adding that his commissioners are total disappointment to the state. He said the information in circulation in the state is not enough; that his commissioners should be press friendly and go to the grass root level and tell the people about the enormous developmental projects which Gov. Dickson is doing through his restoration agenda, so that they will be well informed and stop giving bad credit to the Governor who is working tirelessly to change the face of Bayelsa. While noting some of the achievements and on-going projects of the Commissioner of Education and the Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure that include scholarship, free school buses, free education, dualization of roads, the 3 Senatorial roads and the road networks in the state; Hon. Engema Jumbo urged them to keep up the good work which they are doing so that other commissioners would wake up from their slumber. Hon. Engema Jumbo also added that just as the motto of his group “Condemning Bad Governance” implies, is what they stand for and encouraged all Niger Deltas to stand for what is right. He urged every meaningful Niger Delta to add to the speedy development of the Niger Delta; that no outsider will come and develop it if they fail to do it; adding that the restoration agenda of Gov. Dickson is really working.
