Small charities set the pace Speur-Ghlan (meaning blue skies - TopicsExpress

Small charities set the pace Speur-Ghlan (meaning blue skies in Gaelic) is one of the UKs few pre-school early intervention nurseries. It is run on a charitable basis, because Scotland - like all other parts of the UK - simply hasnt got its act together on early intervention - despite all experts saying it is crucial in autism and other disabilities. Government commissioned reports in both 1998 (RR177) and 2003 (NAAP) recommended somewhere around 15 hours of early intervention per week for children with autism. But then.. er....nothing happened. Maybe this year some of the bigger autism charities will make early intervention a priority - we believe both the top 2 have plans. And lets make it behavioural intervention, ABA - the one that people have bothered to research, the one that works. Meantime, bravo to small and valiant charities like Speur-Ghlan! us6.campaign-archive2/?u=8e49ebccf32aeb23834a0de8b&id=846a62d14a
