So - I was sent many private messages and many commented on the preliminary winter outlook thread... Not that I need to explain myself, but I dont mind answering questions. So here you go in the Curt Autry Facebook pot-stirring like attitude: Q. Why did I put my preliminary thoughts out on winter so early? A. I have more than one hundred posts, collected over the past month asking what my early thoughts were on the winter. I try to cater to our followers. Q. But DT said anyone that puts a forecast out this early is silly and its likely to bust. A. Absolutely!!! Its a risk. Even those who put out forecasts the day before winter could end up being wrong as well. I do my own thing. Just as DT does his own thing. There are my thoughts and I have explained them and in the weeks and months to come, I will update this outlook and explain even more. Preliminary is just what it is, early thoughts, early stab, an early prediction. But dont jump on me because I want to make an early prediction... even if the ingredients or signs never showed up until later in the fall. I did not forecast end of the world - I just made a prediction about a colder winter and with good reasoning why that I explained in the previous post. Q. This is hype A. Go to another page then? You came here on your own, and you can certainly leave on your own. I do my own thing. There are times that I have been wrong, and I have ALWAYS admitted to when I was wrong. This past weekend rain soaker was one of them. I dont get paid for this... I do this for my passion and learning in weather. Take away my monthly penny salary if you are that offended about my preliminary outlooks. Do we have any other questions? -Denver
