So - the Hertford Childrens Book Festival is done for 2014. Our authors were wonderful - selfless, gracious, inspiring and entertaining and so generous with their time. Books were truly brought to life and imaginations were fired. The response to our Festival from publishers, authors, teachers, parents, sponsors, local venues and businesses - and of course the children themselves - has certainly made it so worthwhile for Maureen and I. Today? Today its back to the real world of fiction and make-believe as I return to my 14th novel... In my minds eye, my characters have stood on the periphery of our festival crowds, tapping at their watches and raising their eyebrows at me. Morning Scott! Morning Frankie! Im on my way....
