So Daisy Peel has successfully left the country and is winging her - TopicsExpress

So Daisy Peel has successfully left the country and is winging her way to Sydney (apparently to a lot of rain!). I was a bit nervous last week as to how the seminars would go as I had not met Daisy previously, but had very good feedback from the people in Australia where she has been before. Daisy is very active in the on-line space though, and offers classes for handlers and spectators, so many people have been aware of who she was. I am pleased to say that she totally exceeded my expectations, and I think also of most of the people who went to the seminars as handlers and auditors. Daisy was very good at explaining things clearly, and gave everybody a similar amount of time and respect. I dont think anyone was made to feel small or stupid, and those who did the sequences very well were still given feedback on how they could improve, and had the opportunity to try again. I particularly liked the jumping foundation seminar that she did on Saturday morning, and hopefully that has given many clubs some information to take away about foundation work that can be done. Daisy also did a clear mind seminar on Saturday night, and I think that provided food for thought for those that went. One thing I particularly noted was how we use our peripheral vision, and that people with glasses with thick frames handicap themselves by limiting that vision. I would like to thank everyone who helped out, and there were many of you. The packing up of the venue yesterday went really quickly with many hands making light work. The owner of the Hamilton venue has said that we were great, and there were no issues. He didnt allow many horses on Saturday as he wanted to see what we were like, and how under control our dogs were. Because everyone was so great, there were a lot of horses able to go on Sunday. Daisy and her husband David really enjoyed their visit here, and she has indicated that she would be happy to come out again if there was interest in her doing so. I certainly intend to keep in contact, and to use her expertise in the future to help me and my dogs. So thanks again everyone - particularly Daisy. Though I did heave a sigh of relief after leaving Auckland airport this morning - only my dogs and I to be coordinating now, that should be easy!
