So Facebook, as I was sitting here, reading the news (which is always a mistake) I started getting really down about the world. I watched the video of the woman getting catcalled 100+ times, read someone trivializing the gang rape of a 15 year old boy BECAUSE he was a boy (both horrible in their own ways), and observed just the general modern terror of the day. And when I was resigning myself to the sentiment that life is pain and people are greedy, nasty creatures, I stumbled across this.youtu.be/ytie995zY-Q And was instantly reminded that there is still good and beauty in the world, despite the existence of such horrible things that we are bombarded with every day. For my part-- I know there exists the 100 Happy Days Challenge or whatever it is but that only focuses on your own happiness and doesnt necessarily cause other people the same-- so Im starting my own 100 Days of Beauty. Everyday Ill post something I feel other people can benefit from. If you want to do the same, great. If not great. Just remember that in spite of all the disgusting things in the world around us, there are still opportunities for the sublime.
