So Friday afternoon while I was on my way home from work my car broke down on the Highway it was around 3:00, Ive never had a single issue with this car, apart from flat tires and oil changes. So I wait and hour for AAA to show up, they finally did and my car was off to the mechanics. So the whole weekend goes by with no word from the shop on what happened and how much it will be to fix. So today Monday, I called the shop at 8 this morning and asked them to call me to let me know what was going on. At around 11 oclock while I was at work they FINALLY called me to tell me my Timing Belt had snapped in half while I was driving and there was a 90% chance I had damaged the valves. So I eagerly waited for them to call me back, at around 3:00 I hadnt heard from them so I gave them a rang. The mechanic answers the phone and says, Your engine has been totaled and your dad is here to take it to the car cemetery. I just remember sitting down on the first thing I could find and just putting my face in my hands, then hes like, Im just kidding your car is fine, at first I was mad but then I was seriously relieved because I have some of the worst luck with cars. So I get off work and drive home I hang around for a couple of hours and I get a text from my dad saying that my car was ready and I owe him $868 dollars when he gets home. So he pulls into the driveway and we drive to the shop and he tells me on the way that I have a 6 cylinder engine but one was damaged and I needed to save up to get them all redone which is about $1500 or just save up and trade this car in and get something else. So he hands me my key and i say goodbye to him and then I get into my car and start it up and immediate notice a violent shaking that Ive never noticed before. So I stark making my way home, well, not even 2 miles from the shop I hear a loud snapping and smoke begins spewing from underneath my hood. I begin panicking and trying to make it to the side of the road, nope dead stop in the middle of rush hour, at least Im on a side road. So I called AAA again, called my dad and just sat in my car ushering people to go around me because apparently hazard lights mean pull up to the back of my car and wait. A police officer comes by on the other side ( who was fine as hell by the way ) asked me was I okay and did I need any help. I told him I was alright because the tow truck and my dad were coming back. Lol I should have lied, then the greatest thing ever happened one man stopped and offered to help push me to the side of the road then even better another person stopped and then my dad showed up, it made me really happy to see that there are still good people in the world who will help strangers, especially two white gentleman stopping to help two black gentleman ( I mean just with everything going on in the world ) anyway I need a hug or a shot or 6. And now I look forward to Gotham, something tonight has to go right.
