From Desert Pea Media: In January 2014, a hand-picked selection of amazing young people - participants in a Desert Pea Media and Smugglers of Light Foundation initiative, Song Nation 2013 descended upon Sydney NSW to participate in a unique DPM/ UNICEF Australia collaboration. Over 1 week, young people worked with an amazing group of mentors including Indigenous artists Jimblah, Mau Power and Corey Lloyd John Webster (watch for the cameos) and DPM crew Toby Finlayson, Josh Nicholas and Roc West to write and record a song that unpacked the United Nations Declaration on Rights for Indigenous People - and also produced an accompanying music video. The song will include an accompanying education resource, that will be circulated to schools around Australia - promoting the understanding and realization of basic human rights for Indigenous young people.
