So I actually got into a Lengthy Conversation with a fan the other night, where they asked me if Breadwinners really was THAT BAD of a show. They of course hate it, they arent defending it, but to them, it just seemed like the typical crappy Nickelodeon show, not One of the Worst Animated Shows ever made. Well, I believe that it is, and there are quite a few reasons why I think yes, Breadwinners IS that bad, and may even be a new low for Nickelodeon, even lower than Fanboy and Chum Chum was... First off Id like to say that Breadwinners was never meant to be a show. As many people know already, Breadwinners was made as a joke by the creator to show his students in an animation class. Nickelodeon saw it on Youtube, and threw money at it, and even he wasnt sure why but... Money, so he said yes and made it a show. Breadwinners was never meant to have a plot, it was never meant to BE a show. It was a joke, that somehow, Nickelodeon saw as an opportunity, to make into a franchise, when as we can all see, has failed miserably. This angers me and many others for a specific reason that many shows claw and fight for YEARS to try and get greenlit and never do. The Modifyers, Constant Payne, just some Nickelodeon examples. They had characters, they had a story, they were MEANT to be a show. Not only were they rejected, but a joke with little to no effort, was ACCEPTED. In many eyes, Breadwinners is a black mark on the animation industry, for not even TRYING, and somehow getting a show, over shows that should have gotten a chance, and never did. I dont blame the creator for taking Nickelodeons money, but I blame Nickelodeon for being idiots as always. The other big reason is... man is the show bad. I mean REALLY BAD. There may be harder shows to look at like Problem Solverz, but Breadwinners is bottom of the barrel cheap, half of the animation is stock photo imagery and the other half is Flash. The voice acting is horrible, there is no plot, there is no direction, and when there is a plot, it ends in implied Date Rape. And The Patakis were deemed too dark for a Nick at Nite timeslot? Nick Logic everyone! Im not going to say Fanboy and Chum Chum was better, but I feel like that show lasted less on the main Network than Breadwinners has as it got the Nicktoon Death Treatment, and to me, that makes Breadwinners worse, its still lingering and at least Fanboy and Chum Chum didnt have implied rape... I dont think anyway... Both shows are horrible though. So if you dont think Breadwinners is one of the worst, thats your opinion. As long as you hate it to some degree we can basically be on the same page. This is why I believe however, that Breadwinners is one of the worst shows on TV right now, and definitely one of the worst shows Nickelodeon has ever made. and one of the worst Animated Shows I have personally seen. Its definitely one of the bigger mistakes Nickelodeon has ever made, in that growing pile of them that they continue to make for themselves... and they renewed it for a Season 2. I can only Hope it gets the Nicktoons Death Treatment bound soon... or the characters burn in a fire or spontaneously explode, or something satisfying.
