So I almost got scammed yesterday!!! Heres what happened. Im staying in Vegas for a while so i decided to try renting a time-share instead of casino, as i wanted to prep my own food. Well i found a place on Craigs list that seemed OK... 1200.00 for 9 days, LV city centre... this person sends me a contract. Which I completed, and sent back. They asked for full payment up front using PayPal. Which i was fine with, because it offers buyer protection. Well just as im getting on the plane the person refunded my $. When I land I find out that the suite was supposedly overbooked by one day... and i have to wait untill 10 am the next day for the suite. They then tell me that there is a problem w paypal and that i need too resend my $ using a bank wire transfer :). Hmmmm.... See where this is going? The guise was that they fostered trust by refunding the money... but. paypal offers buyer protection anyway so they would have been forced to refund! Bank transfer... once its gone its gone!
