So I am co-oping with a summer day camp so that Noah can attend. Today was our first day and I met the teacher. One little 4-year-old had a very difficult time and the teacher went off about how she is not potty trained, how she throws tantrums (which she did for almost the first 2 hours and would kick at the other kids if they came near her). She also proceeded to tell me during water play that the little girl she thought might have a touch of autism and how she "could not handle a child like that." Today is one of those days when I am SO GRATEFUL for a thick skin. I just wanted to say, "you have no idea what it takes to raise a child with special needs" and saw this little girl has being more than an easy handle...maybe just needing some extra attention/love and understanding. Blows my mind that she confided in me she was raised with a Downs Syndrome brother.
