So I am having a bizarrely manic day. I am bipolar so that is meant in the literal sense. Fortunately, it is having the useful side effect of cranking up my creativity and honing my perceptions of random subjects. My dream this morning was the first clue of my mood shift. I started imagining a much deeper story for the dream that might be worth writing down. Im also coming up with great ideas related to my research paper. Finally, Ive been thinking very positively of the twelve steps today from a new perspective, a fresh way to approach them this time around. As fun as it may be for the moment, mania comes with its risks and dangers so Im being vigilantly aware of my thinking today. Fortunately for me I have an appointment scheduled with my psychiatrist in half an hour. How lucky. That is tantamount to getting a bad cold the same day you had a prearranged doctors appointment.
