So I am not a huge fan of using facebook to talk about how wonderful or hard your life maybe. I also do not use it to reveal my political or religious beliefs. However, I am going to share something with a hint of religion. In August we took Nick to the doctor for a routine sports physical. Hours later we left with an uneasy feeling that he may have heart problems. The next week after visiting the cardiologist we found out that he had a hole in his heart and would need open heart surgery. His surgery was performed on the 6th of November and he is home resting. I am not going to share all the details except.....with the help of family and friends we were able to face this head on with a nothing will happen to my son attitude. We could not have done this without our support network, we even reached out to military friends that we lost touch with just to talk and like any military member they listened, prayed, and supported us from all over the US. So now for my preaching first of all hug your kids and tell them you love them, second get a physical done yearly regardless of your busy schedule, third remember this verse from 1 Peter 1:6-7, Though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
