So I am sat here on my bed... (perks of working from home) and I am listening to a training course by the industry expert and the 7 figure earning Mark Hoverson. In this training, within the first few minutes he talks about how he has closed millions of dollars of sales as a tele-marketer, however he where is started from was a completely different situation. Starting out he explains the painful rejections he received on a daily basis...and how intensely painful and confidence shattering the job it was. Of course, Mark hated the rejections, he hated being a Tele-Marketer. He literally had to overcome 5 objections per phone call OR be hung up on otherwise it was seen as a failed attempt by his employees to get the sale. Mark talks about how he softly learnt how to overcome these objections, he learnt how to sell properly. He learnt how to talk to these wealthy people and take advantage of his negative situation, i.e the job he hated. Entirely turning his situation around, Mark became the top tele-marketer for the jumble loans that he was selling. When Mark Hoverson, later moved into the online marketing world, he quickly learnt a big lesson... despite the hundreds of hours of tele-marketing experience he had clocked up, he explains how he absolutely sucked and online marketing. He was useless and nobody would ever buy from him! So, instead of giving up, Mark took action and he bought every single book he could on sales psychology, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Tom Hopkins, Jim Rohn. He bought all the books and studied like crazy. What he realised was that selling if he could do it well, was one of the highest paying skills possible and its very adaptable, because you can sell one product, and when that goes away, you can sell another quite easily. One of the things Mark highlights from his tele-marketing days was how he used to be so nervous on the phone when he was talking and pitching to people, that he bought a note book and he titled it mistakes that I have made and he would go on to log everything down in it that he thought he had done wrong. He would track every single phone call, what wasnt smooth, what seemed manipulative, what seemed unnatural, what seemed off, what seemed lazy, how his voice sounded, he just started critiquing his self. Even going to the extreme of buying a crate of bud to try to loosen himself up... what a loser I was haha in his own words He literally tried everything because he simply wanted out of the corporate world and to create his own lifestyle and his own future. Mark goes on to share the distillation of a tonne of learning and knowledge that he gathered to create his millions, and the secrets to recruiting and closing sales. It is seriously powerful learning. Anyway, the moral of this post is simply this, If you are in a situation where you are not happy and you want out. Take ACTION. If you are no good at something ... find out how to become better at it. Improve your skills and practice... practice, practice, practice. Create yourself a vision, of what you want out of life, (is it to never be poor again, is it to leave your job that you hate, live in a tropical paradise, buy your own home, eat what you want, go where ever you want), why you want it and what you are going to do to get it. Think about where you are going wrong, analyse this and take steps to improve it. If you want something bad enough, and you believe that you can achieve it, and you keep telling yourself it will happen, and of course make steps to achieve it....guess what? It will happen.
