So I attended the RPVB City Committee meeting tonight - because I attended the fiasco at the 2nd Congressional District Mass meeting. What a shocker!!! Instead of attempting to correct the mistake of disenfranchising nearly1,000 Delegates the Convention, the leadership decided to say the pledge, a prayer, declare a quorum existed, read the Republican Party Creed, told everyone that no one can record the meeting (singling out VA News Source/Morris Rowe by name), adopted the agenda, and then Ken Longo stated it was planned to be a short meeting and stated that the City Committee cannot over turn the results of the Mass Meeting as requested by the appeal; Ken then solicited that someone in the RPVB make a motion to adjourn. Which was done. People objected. Lots of people. Eventually the Parliamentarian (Stolle) made a amendment to the motion on the floor - his amendment was to oppose the motion to adjourn. It was seconded. After that, any pretext of following Roberts Rules of Order disappeared. Let the venting begin!! Not that it matters, but we never did vote on the substitute motion on the floor (ironically made by the Parliamentarian!). In the end several people were allowed to speak. Chris Brown lead the speakers. All but one objected to slating. The one member that supported the slating began his remarks by stating while he had been a life long Republican the Mass Meeting where the slating took place was his first Mass Meeting and tonights City Committee meeting was his first City Committee meeting. He went on the explain he thought everything that happened at the Mass Meeting was just fine and he could not understand why anyone would object. But did I mention that he also told us that Frank Wagner is a friend of his? The low point of the meeting was Ken Longo and Del. Stolle ruling the attorney for the 106 people signing a petition to object to the shenanigans of the Mass Meeting was out of order (because he was not a member of the RPVB) and the lawyer was then forcibly ejected from the meeting. To be fair, Longo and Stolle did let the guy speak at least once prior to throwing him out. A question was asked (by Michelle) as to whom it was that created the list of 32 names that were used to slate the 1,000+ delegates. The question went unanswered. Well, it was stated that whomever made the motion to slate created the list. But Del. Stolle at first told the crowd I think it was Leo Wardrup. It was Dave Hummel. I know. I took notes at the Mass meeting. Eventually someone in the crowd shouted out Dave Hummels name. But Michelle wanted to know who PICKED the list of 32 names. Not who made the motion to slate. I was not convinced we had the truth. Yet Frank Wagner was present. He could have told us who picked the list of 32 names. But instead he choose not to. Like I said, What a shocker!!!
