So I believe I have a diagnosis.....Seronegitive RA. Went to the doctor today and took joint fluid which looks normal so no signs of infection, thats a good thing! Going to take x-rays but they probably wont show anything....yet, as it can take up to a year or longer for the damage to be visible. So after a VERY long discussion on treatment and how to proceed I did agree to a cortisone injection into the wrist joint. Those who know me well, know I DONT INJECT ANYTHING EVER!! But this time I did, cant tolerate the pain and dont want to wait 6 weeks for the other medication to start working. So fingers crossed that this will at least help, if not I do have another option so something to fall back on. Doctor kept saying how impressed he was with me, because he knows how painful it is...I just kept trying not to pass out! Its not curable but is treatable, so Ill have to wear both braces anytime Im not working and at bedtime...oh joy...its not easy sleeping with those things, but if it helps Im game. Should know with in the next few days if its going to help, if not than on to plan B, just glad for a diagnosis, not the one I was hoping for but at a least finally some answers.
