So, I decided to torture myself with another project of urgency. Dryer started eating clothes and leaving black marks on everything. Cost of parts alone had me look on craigslist. Kenmore washer and dryer set $100 I looked up the model and serial code-made September 1999. I called to ask a few questions about options and was told it made a noise after the spin cycle. We got to chatting and I said that it would be Monday before I could come see the set. I explained that my husband was not home, yet he had pulled in the drive way from a 4 day vacation. I told the guy I had to go. 10 min later I got a call,we will make you a deal you cant refuse,80 for the set we are losing are home. I busted out to Independence and felt like I walked into an episode of Trainspotting where they were trying to get their last fix. Mamma went inside and I see the washer outside in front of the garage the washer filling with a garden hose. Three guys and one with out a shirt called pappa as they called him. He looked old enough to be dad but the kids had no resemblance but the bad dental line. Inspecting the back it didnt looked like it had been hooked up. Did you have it hooked up in the house?, well, yah?! I ran the cycles on the washer, check. I am moving since this place is full of meth heads, but I dont to that. Just weed... Blah, blah, blah, I was inspecting the washer. There is rust in the holes, the water magnifying it. I was waiting for divine intervention to tell me to walk away. But no. Googling how to fix rust in washer. Draining, check. I felt like a pro sticking my finger in the lid hole to test spin cycle. Apply pressure...still spinning. And then a rattle on stop. I was concerned about the rattle, but for 80 bucks I could use the dryer. A look around, I see the beat up truck. I wi give you your 20 bucks back if you bring them to my house. So there they sat. Dryer in this morning and working! Old one in parts, washer still outside.
