So I didnt have the words to finish this poem, but since Ive been on this freeway for 3hrs... While people protest, here goes: Untitled Confuse us just enough, So that we cannot think, Pollute our air just enough, So our lungs wither and shrink, Poison our food just enough, so that our brains become accustomed to pain And slowed are our instincts, Dilute our knowledge just enough so that a simple slur as I cant breath is nonsense that can be re-written in ink... Yes, Jim Crows 500 year plan still has us in links, you can see that clearly if you dont blink, Weve stopped reading, Weve stopped writing, Weve stopped learning, Weve excepted hurting... Moreover, the recent depiction, Of black men in handcuffs, To take that pill up the a$$ is tuff, Yes we are still being sanomized And enough is enough. Yet there are some of us who believe that wars can be won without guns, With the adrenaline as if we were fighting for our daughters and sons... Because where will they go when theres nowhere to run? Will they be the next one? Does their existence equate to none? Weve demonstrated our justifiable frustration by the tons, For If we dont change today, whats the point in tomorrow? Yet greatness may prevail from sorrow, So lets uplift our spirits, Because nowadays the smiles we wear are borrowed, We plaster them on mainstream social media sites, For thumbs ups and likes, But where do those smiles go when were all alone at night? And you shed those final tears because you can no longer fight... Get youre mind right, And educate yourself, Because all of us are seen as one less life, Doesnt matter if youre black or white.
