So, I get migraines. A lot of you know this. Ive been getting them since I was eleven. Im turning thirty-seven this year. For the last decade I have had migraines most days of the week. Sometimes they are what i call baby migraines; painful, but they dont completely tank me. Sometimes they are so incredibly painful that I think this cant possibly just be a migraine; I must be having a stroke or an aneurysm has burst. Most are somewhere in between. One migraine alone can last from an hour to over a week. My migraines control and dictate so much of my life. I spend a lot of time alone at home in bed. I spend a lot of time canceling plans last minute. I get referred to a lot as lazy and flaky by some who dont understand. I get a lot of advice from many. I much prefer the advice, even though most of it is stuff Ive already heard of and tried. I always hope that the next recommendation will be the magical one. The worst thing about my migraines is how much they control and dictate the lives of Son, Kaelum and Riley. They shouldnt have to bear the burden of my illness. Tomorrow morning I am beginning Botox treatments for the first time. This involves getting 31 injections in seven places on my face, neck and back. These treatments will be every 12 weeks. I am very needle phobic. I am so frightened, I get faint just thinking about it. But I am pretty much at the end of the line as far as solutions. I so desperately need this to work. So Im reaching out to anyone who has kept reading this long. Please send prayers, wishes, good vibes or good thoughts my way. Or even just be extra nice to the people in your lives, especially the annoying ones. Maybe do something kind for a stranger or yourself. I would really appreciate it.
