So...I get up this am...have my wonderful breakfast...a nice soak to ready myself for the road. I go out and check my fluid levels prior to the start of the last leg of my journey... and my transmission fluid looks like oil. I figure maybe its burnt (I heard of that somewhere) so I decide to go to Jiffey Lube to have them top off my fluids for me (a benefit of having stopped for an oil change and fluid check before I left) My transmission was slipping something fierce on the way. The Jiffey guy says yep...transmission fluid is badly burnt and you should take it to a transmission shop cause the slipping isnt good. (No kidding?) So I go to the transmission shop. Mechanic takes a look... takes a smell... and says Who put oil in your transmission? He is going to drain it and flush the system...take the pan off and put a new gasket on... $160.00 bucks later...if there isnt serious damage done... I will be on my way back to Jiffey Lube to see if their going to pay the damages. What do you think? Should they? Should I pursue recourse if they dont?
