So...I got nominated by Brynja, Joel, Rui and someone else whom Ive forgotten now....sorry :( Elin maybe?? So I guess its about time to do this shit. I take these things very seriously so I cant do it in 5 minutes :) 10 albums that somehow changed my life, in no particular order: 1. Iron Maiden - The Number of the beast (THE(!!!) album that created/destroyed (however you choose to see it) my life. I still remember seeing Eddie underneath the lamp post at 6 years of age. Who wouldnt like that?? And when asking my parents what the number of the beast means in swedish, I was told it means the best number So i always had thing for 666s. 2. Slayer - South of Heaven. No, I dont choose Reign in Blood because its a bit too easy. South of heaven has more dynamics and an eerie feeling they never created on later albums. 3. Bolt Thrower - Realm of Chaos. A friend of mine told me when he heard Voivod the first time, there was no way people could play that kind of music. It just HAD to be machines. I think I got the same feeling when I heard this one the first time. 4. Judas Priest - Stained Class. I had to choose between this and Sin after sin. This has the grooviness of the 70s and Sin after sin, but is on its way to heavy metal in some songs. So this is the perfect mix. Favourite song white heat, red hot. Just listen to those drums. 5.Forbidden - Twisted into form. I chose between this and Testaments - The legacy. In the end I have listened more this than the legacy. I think this might be the epitome of thrash. 6. Captain Beyond - S/T Dont know how this came to me. But I discovered it about 10 years ago. i think it was because a band I was playing in at the time (rise and shine) did played on a cover cd with this on it. So did Yello if Im not mistaken. It did not mean I would start liking them... ;-) But yeah, this is perfection to me. Equal amounts of cool riffing and progressiveness. 7. Florence and the Machine - Ceremonials. Somehow I usually shut off when I hear songs on the radio. But when shake it out was playing there was something else. Later on I got it copied from Thomas, the singer of Year of the Goat. And I cant describe it, but this became a really important album in my collection. 8. Holy Moses - The New Machine of Liecthenstein. Long ago, when everything was black and white and people were moving much faster than today, I was playing in a technical thrash/death metal band. The drummer in that band had this as his favorite album back then. I still think Uli Kusch is one of the greatest drummers of all times. And the riffs. Super clear and not a single mistake on the album. 9. W.A.S.P. - S/T (or winged assassins as mine is called) What can I say? Same as Iron Maiden. If you didnt think this was cool when you were 6-10 you were a synth-guy. Synth-guys had to be destroyed. 10. Agent Steel - Skeptics Apocalypse Masters of metal - agents of steel!!! That is all. I further on nominate the following, because I think you seem to have an interesting taste in music. You dont have to be as geeky as me and write an essay about it. But if you have time to do at all, just go ahead. :) Lola, Ben, Pablo, Kikki, Ramon, Dona, Jens, Paulo Ok, Im outta here!!!
