So I had an emergency root canal done yesterday, and in its wake, I did not exactly feel like tap dancing. Instead, I glumly watched the clock to see when I could next take something for pain. This morning, still not feeling so very fine, I sat at the kitchen table trying to eat toast. Not too successful. Gabby said, Are you going to eat that? Excuse me, are you going to eat that? Because I can help you out, you know. Im right here, see? Can you see me? It would be a shame to waste that. You could just throw it right down, and -- Oh! [Gulp!] Thanks, I love the way you butter all the way into the four corners. Hey, do we have any more root canals to look forward to? A friend of mine told me he got a terrible cold, and his partner set him up on a TV tray with tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich and turned on I Love Lucy for him. Although I am fond of saying that dogs are better than people, it isnt always so.
