So, I have a sore leg right now - once broken, now healing. Noone calls me naughty for taking stairs slowly or avoiding doing things that hurt. With a horse it seems it is different. The article below talks of a horse who was misbehaving, then had time off and treatment for his back, and is now behaving. That would indicate that, just possibly, his misbehaviour was caused by pain. And yet he is still, in the same article, referred to as naughty and quirky.
