The Crosswood, Inc., Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Dr. Tania DuBeau has accepted the position of CEO/Executive Director of The Pathways Schools. For the past seven years, Dr. DuBeau has served as Pathways Director of Programs. Dr. DuBeau began her career at Pathways as a social worker with our Northwood program in 1988 and then later moved into school-based administrative leadership, including serving as Principal of Pathways-Edgewood, before going to Pathways-wide administration in 2002. Dually certified in Special Education and Social Work, Dr. DuBeau received her Doctorate from the University of Maryland in 2000. She will continue to serve on the Board of the Maryland Association of Nonpublic Special Education Facilities (MANSEF) as the Immediate Past President. She will also begin to serve on the Board of the District of Columbia Association for Special Education (DCASE). Dr. DuBeaus long career at Pathways and her experience in the key position of Director of Programs, together with her impressive credentials and expertise, will ensure that our school moves forward seamlessly into the next school year and beyond. Dr. DuBeaus work at Pathways has been shaped by our vision and mission, and she is deeply committed to individualized education and to continuing to build the programs that enable our students to acquire the skills they need to succeed in school, career, and life. She is aware that many of the initiatives currently at the forefront of education, including the emphasis on developing career and college readiness skills and addressing the emotional well-being of students, have been priorities for Pathways for over 30 years. They have been and are central to how we design and operate our programs. This will not change, nor will our commitment to each student we serve and to maintaining our place at the cutting edge of innovation and creativity in the field of special education. We are confident that Pathways, and our students, have a bright future under the leadership of Dr. DuBeau, both academically and in personal development. Our families and the wider Pathways community can look forward to experiencing Pathways trademark individual attention and care within small, success-oriented settings, as well as the exciting possibilities offered by programs such as Young Entrepreneurship, Alternative Therapies, In-School Credit Union Branches, the Student Art Show, and more.
